Name Ciovo was first time mentioned in 1552. In 1243. island was divided. Slatine was under Split`s administration and Okrug, Arbanija and Zedno under Trogir`s administration. In 15th century many refugees running away from Turks came to island and inhabitated it.

Island Ciovo (region of Central Dalmatia, Croatia) is located in Croatian region Central Dalmatia. It is connected with mainland with drawbridge at Trogir. Island Ciovo has around 6100 inhabitants. Slatine is located on east side of island Ciovo. Name Slatine means well and it was first time mentioned by historiographer Lucic. Slatine has around 1100 inhabitants who used to be directed to fishing and livestock farming, but today main occupation is tourism.

Arbanija is located on north-east side of island Ciovo, 4 km far from Trogir. Arbanija has around 500 inhabitants. Arbanija has beautiful beaches and woods. It is ideal for relaxing and peaceful vacation.

Okrug is located on west side of island Ciovo, 3 km far from Trogir. It is consisted of Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji. It has around 3000 inhabitants. It is often tourist destination in Central Dalmatia. Okrug offers many restaurants, night clubs, fun on beaches...

Climate is Mediterranean. Island Ciovo has many beautiful beaches, bays, islets, rich vegetation...
